Thembie arrives on Thursday. She’ll be staying at the Serena and she’ll be here for 1 week. How do I know this? She e-mailed me her flight schedule, hotel booking and list of things she’d like to do while she’s here. She says that she’s here for work but it’s not adding up. She doesn’t have a job (unless her job is going to parties) so I don’t know what kind of ‘work’ would bring her to Kampala for a week with three of her friends.
I have to attend a conference in Dar on Thursday and Friday so I won’t be here when the party crew arrives (thank God!). I’ve enlisted Carrie to show them a good time. Thembie and her friends are snobs so I think there might be a clash in terms of the places she takes them to, but if they can drink, dance and chat to hot(ish) men they’ll be happy. As usual Carrie is scouring the isles of Owino for outfits to match her assignment. The look she’s going for: KLArdashian chic.
I’m trying to see if I can convince Luke to join me in Dar. The conference ends early Friday afternoon, we could stay through the weekend and hit two birds with one stone: spend time together & avoid the awkwardness with Thembie. I trust him when he says that he’s over her, I trust him when he says that he would never do anything to compromise our relationship, I just don’t trust her.

- Barnaby, I’ve been there so often, I’ve spoken to them, heard their songs, rlleod their beads, held their hands and your pictures still drive me to tears thank you for so powerfully recording these emotions and people yes, real people. And you know what I didn’t think our visits were that significant but I think your photographs are telling me something different. So appreciative,Tim
