In this award-winning movie, Director Carol Kamya tells the stories of a maid, a hip-hop dancer and child soldier living in Uganda.
The movie is in Luganda with English subtitles. Judging from the trailer we are pretty excited. The soundtrack is supposed to be amazing featuring songs by Ugandan artists like Tshila.
The movie is currently playing in Cineplex, Garden City.
We are waiting to hear some comments on this movie…let us know! NO SPOILERS!
Go UGAWOOD!!!

apparently “it’s an extended version of a that’ s life mwatu episode…”
how sad
as for stealing script – shame on you carol!!!!

I don’t like these script stealing allegations. I don’t think that that is fair. If Judith Adong has had their script stolen she should address it.
On a completely different note, I saw the movie. We’ve got a long way to go Ugawood, but hey – you’ve got to start somewhere! A+ for effort

the movie was a for effort but nothing happened, hello? no climax. i am a better supporter of ugawood if i am honest and criticial for no intention other than enjoying the movie. honesty is the only way our industry will boom. we dont need to be supporters by bullshitting.

I agree with style queen. It’s great to see local cinema take off, but the film was quite dull. No character development. Nothing happened! While waiting for otto start the credits started rolling. To the cast and crew: don’t ne disheartened, take in the positive and negative comments so that your next film will be that much better. Well done for getting something out there!

my friends went to see it and said that it was nice to see a local people and places, but in regards to the actual movie, it was nothing to write home about. hollywood wasnt built in a day…we’ll get there!

Thought the movie had decent cinematography in some parts but the script and story sucked ASSSS… and it wasn’t really a movie made for Ugandans… its one of those stab in the dark hope to get an award for this somewhere in europe for coming from a develoing country and telling a story about overcoming blah blah crap.
Sorry i took this film personally as a total waste of time and horrible horrible HORRRIBLE story telling.
Visually there are 4 or 5 memorable frames, then a little borrowed from foreign film techniques like the whole moving camera city of God/Bourne scenario…
Positive…. um… its not Nollywood. But still lacks visual identity which Nollywood at least can boast about.
