If you haven’t done so already, head towards youtube and check out Lilian’s new video, ‘So in love’. Released last week, the Benon-produced single is sparse (mostly just guitar, light percussion and Lilian’s vocals) but it is a mood-setter. It is the kind of song you switch on right after you pour the wine and just before you dim the lights.
All mood-setting music needs mood-setting visuals and the video, directed by Onoh of the Market Makers provides a perfect complement to the song. It’s black-and-white, all kinds of stylish and fits the song to a T. Lilian has released some high quality songs and videos in the past year and her band, the Sundowners, are up for a PAM award.
